Product features
Product features
RP2040 Microcontroller Chip: Designed in-house by Raspberry Pi, featuring a dual-core Arm Cortex-M0+ processor running up to 133 MHz with 264KB of embedded SRAM and 2MB of onboard QSPI Flash memory.
Flexible 26-Pin GPIO Layout: Breaks out 26 multi-function 3.3V GPIO pins (including 3 analog inputs) with castellated edges, allowing both DIP through-hole pin header soldering and direct surface-mounting onto custom baseboards.
Programmable I/O (PIO) Subsystem: Outfitted with 2 stateful PIO blocks (8 total state machines) that enable custom high-speed hardware protocol emulation (such as SPI, I2S, or custom PWM waveforms) without loading the CPU cores.
Rich Native Peripherals: Features 2x SPI, 2x I2C, 2x UART, 16x PWM channels, an onboard user-programmable LED, an accurate on-chip clock and timer, and an integrated temperature sensor.
Low-Power Operating Modes: Supports low-power sleep and dormant modes, allowing energy-efficient performance for battery-powered field sensors and remote telemetry installations.
Materials and care
Materials and care
PCB Composition: Built on a compact, high-density multi-layer FR4 fiberglass circuit board featuring gold-plated contact pads and castellated edges for high-reliability hand or surface-mount soldering.
Static Handling Precautions: Standard electrostatic sensitive device (ESD). Ground yourself or wear an anti-static wrist strap, and handle the board strictly by its fiberglass outer edges.
Soldering Guidelines: Maintain proper soldering iron temperatures when attaching pin headers or surface-mounting onto carrier boards to prevent trace lifting or thermal stress to surface components.
Environmental Limits: Safe operating temperature range is -20°C to +85°C. Keep protected from moisture, condensation, and conductive contaminants while powered.
