Product features
RP2350 Dual-Architecture Microcontroller with Wireless: Powered by Raspberry Pi's custom RP2350 chip featuring selectable dual-core Arm Cortex-M33 or dual-core Hazard3 RISC-V processors (up to 150 MHz), paired with an onboard Infineon RM2 wireless module for 2.4GHz 802.11n Wi-Fi and Bluetooth 5.2.
Expanded Embedded Storage: Outfitted with 520KB of internal SRAM and 4MB of onboard QSPI flash memory, providing double the memory footprint of the original Pico W for complex network stacks, SSL/TLS security protocols, and DSP calculations.
Hardware-Backed Security Suite: Features integrated Arm TrustZone technology, secure boot capability, SHA-256 hardware acceleration, 8KB of OTP storage, and hardware anti-tamper protections for secure IoT deployments.
Enhanced Programmable I/O (PIO): Includes 3 PIO blocks with 12 total state machines, enabling custom, high-speed hardware protocol bit-banging (such as custom display drivers or sensor buses) without overloading the CPU.
Pin-Compatible Drop-In Design: Retains the exact 40-pin layout, DIP footprint, and castellated edges as the original Pico series for seamless hardware upgrades.
Materials and care
Materials and care
PCB Composition: Built on a dense multi-layer FR4 fiberglass circuit board with gold-plated castellated pads designed for both header pin assembly and direct SMD surface mounting.
Static Handling Precautions: Highly sensitive to Electrostatic Discharge (ESD). Always ground yourself or use an anti-static wrist strap, and handle the board strictly by its fiberglass edges.
Soldering Guidelines: Maintain proper temperature controls when hand-soldering pin headers or surface-mounting onto carrier boards to prevent trace lifting or thermal damage to the onboard wireless module.
Environmental Limits: Safe operating temperature range is -20°C to +70°C. Protect the unit from liquids, condensation, and conductive dust while powered.
